Praise for Jim Millard's
"Bastions on the Border..." "It is really a terrific book... [Millard's] exhaustive study of the documents connected to the forts and masterful presentation of the materials is laudable...quality and variety of the images is terrific..." Dr. Russell P. Bellico- Historian/Author "Sails and Steam in the Mountains: A Maritime and Military History of Lake George and Lake Champlain" and other titles |

Fort Montgomery Days Celebration!
We regret that due to insurance
reasons the The
2009 Fort
Montgomery Days event was an astounding success attended by over
2000 people.
Storied Fort Montgomery, located in a strategic location along the border of the United States and Canada, was the last in a long line of important fortifications built along this historic waterway.
Join us as we celebrate this
Guardian of the Northern Gateway!

The Fort is privately owned and access to the public has been restricted to small, private tours for many years. For this celebration, however, certain areas of the fort will be open to the public free of charge*. These tours will be guided by trained docents knowledgeable about the fort. We will have Civil War re-enactors on site, live music, actual artifacts from the fort, historical presentations, displays of vintage photos, maps and plans, refreshments and family-friendly live entertainment.
Watch for our Fort
Montgomery Days poster with more information. |
